As Communications Director, World Vision Syria Response you will strategically and operationally lead field communications for the Syria Crisis Response; to provide the leadership, support and resource to enable the World Vision partnership to appropriately engage with its various public engagement audiences in order to raise funds and profile and support World Vision’s (WV’s) advocacy efforts, while protecting and promoting WV’s response work.
The main focus of your work will be on the regional response and the country responses in Syria, Jordan, the Kurdish Region of Iraq (KRI) and Turkey (80%) with provision of support on issues of resilience and Syrian refugees to World Vision Lebanon as required (20%).
Requirements include:
- Masters in the field of Journalism or public relations or another relevant field or a Bachelor’s Degree with relevant work experience.
- At least five years of progressive work experience with international exposure/external engagement on humanitarian emergencies or fragile country contexts.
- Strong journalistic skills, ability to facilitate the collection of photo, video, story and social media resources.
- Excellent command of English both written and spoken. Arabic is an advantage.
- Position requires willingness and ability to continue to function in unpredictable and potentially hostile environments.
