Purpose of the Position

Under the direct supervision of the Logistics Specialist or in his absence, the Supply & Logistics manager, the incumbent will carry out transport and logistics daily activities with below key end-results:

  • Organize the implementation of the program distribution plan.
  • Manage inland transport and follow up related invoices.
  • Support the warehouse activities
  • Maintain logistics data's accurate and update.
  • Support the supply & logistics unit on request.
  • MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    1: Organize the implementation of the program distribution plan. Calculate weight and volume, propose cost estimate. Inform Program sections when waybill comes back with partner acknowledgement of receipt. Maintain close contact with logistics counterpart.

    2: Manage inland transport. Insure transport contracts are issued and signed before truck loading. Maintain up to date a report of transport follow up. Maintain close contact with transport company under LTA. Follow up of each shipment until end and report on any outstanding. Inform and train transporters on UNICEF expectations and documentations required. Process and follow up on contract payment and claim. Organise the planning of Unicef's trucks.

    3: Support the warehouse. Act as officer in charge for the senior warehouse assistant. Insure payment of warehouse renting invoices. Prepare weekly Logistics activities report. Maintain office archive for release orders, waybills, closed transport contract along with copy of related invoices.

    4: Maintain the logistics archive and the SAP system accurate and update. Prepare the service call and share the result with the team.

    5: Support the supply & logistics unit on request.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    Education

    Completion of Secondary School, University level courses in administration, finance and management.

    Work Experience

    Minimum of 7 years of relevant professional work experience in field of logistics including 2 years' experience with an international organization in Logistics and/or transport management.

    Language Proficiency

    Fluency in French and good command of English.
