PURPOSE OF THE POST
Under supervision of Finance Manager, performs moderately specialized tasks in the accounting and finance functions.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintains financial records for office accounts for which responsibility is assigned. Codes and records receipts and payments, assure accuracy of computation and completeness of documents, is the custodian of all finance files and responsible for archiving all files ensuring that there properly coded.
Responsible as Petty Cash custodian and prepares recurring reports on PC accounts, and responsible for disburse the PC account to requester, noting problems resulting from excess cost or less-than-expected receipts. Prepares special reports to clarify problems or for other reasons.
Responsible to record receivable, including DCT refund, Guest House payment, telephone and other to appropriate GL in VISION, so all receivable will be recorded within the moths they are incurred.
Prepares routine correspondence and maintains personal and telephone contacts with others to discuss matters concerning accounts, and related assignments.
Responsible for obtaining signature from Paying Officer and submit payments to the local banks. Maintains contact with local banks to clarify questions pertaining to office bank accounts.
Briefs and assists newly arrival international staff, experts and consultants on basic financial procedures and requirements with respect to payments, entitlements, banking and currency provisions and other requirements relating to accounts and finance.
Responsible to record overtime from Kabul office and also from other Zone Offices into the system, so staff members can get the payment of their payroll on time.

EDUCATION
Completion of secondary education. Certificate/diploma in business administration or accounting or book-keeping methods and office practices desirable.
WORK EXPERIENCE
Five years of work experience in accounting or clerical work.
LANGUAGES
Fluency in English and in the local language of the duty station required.
