Position: MAKANI FieldOfficer

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

Under the overall supervision of the MAKANI Project Manager, the education officer with the guidance and support of the Project Coordinator will extend technical support to the facilitators, volunteers and supervisors at each MAKANI center. He/ She will oversee the implementation process and make sure that all UNICEF and WVI standards are met. He /She will oversee 4 MAKANIcenters. He/ She will ensure that activities are monitored and delivered to a high quality by the facilitators, volunteers and supervisors at each MAKANI center. The post holder will also ensure that education programme interventions are highly valued by the community and acknowledged as addressing the needs of beneficiaries.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Project Planning and Implementation:

  • Follow up the performance of MAKANI partners by ensuring that they are offering education that is of technical quality.
  • Provide effective, innovative and strategic leadership in MAKNAI project at the center level.
  • Work closely with the MAKANI centers supervisors in identification of existing gaps in MAKANI project. MAKANI project and activities.
  • Report directly to the MAKANI project coordinator.
  • Perform the functions of this position with a strong understanding of the MAKANI initiative.
  • Follow up the execution of placement test and preparing the education plan in line with IFE curriculum framework.

Capacity building and training:

  • Take the lead in building the capacity of MAKANI staff and community’s members in education and child protection interventions through training and awareness.
  • Attend meetings and training programmes, as requested, to keep abreast of trends in the provided service areas.
  • Assist in recruiting process on the center level “facilitators and mobilizers”, providing them with guidance as needed.

Partnership and networking:

  • Represent MAKANI project and participate in networking meeting/ workshop, training and awareness sessions at the center level.
  • Building collaborative relations with MAKANI staff in the centers.
  • With the approval of supervisors, represent the World Vision Jordan and its program at Inter-agency meetings, workshops and conferences that are deemed to be useful to World Vision.

Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting:

  • Work closely with the project coordinator in identification of existing gaps in MAKANI project.
  • Submit daily, weekly and monthly work plan and report to the concern supervisors on regular basis.
  • Maintain an up to date data base for the project and activities.
  • Prepare budget for trainings, awareness sessions and various events in the Centers.
  • Be responsible of MAKANI project implementation, monitoring, evaluation, documentation and dissemination of success stories and best practices.

Child Protection:

  • Ensure safe learning environment in MAKANI centers through the implementation of the project activities keeping in view World Vision’s mission, principles and code of conduct.

Education:

  • Bachelor degree in a social development related field - Education, psychology, sociology, specialized education Post graduate education training is an added advantage.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Relevant experience of at least 2 year with reputable institution, national or international NGO
  • Interest in areas of child protection and/or education; back ground of dealing with children & young people.
  • Well-organized, self-motivated, positive attitude and with a willingness to learn.
  • Excellent English and Arabic communication skills (both oral and written)
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Good report writing skills.
  • Proficient in MS office (MS word, Power Point and Excel)
  • Ready to take intuitive and work with in pressure.

Experience:

  • Relevant experience of at least 2 years with reputable institution, national or international education NGO
